Seeks Short-Term Technical Trainers for Community Economic Development
(Contract Dates: April 29, 2013 – August 16, 2013)
Responsible for providing training programs and technical guidance to Trainees in the Community Economic Development program for Peace Corps/Paraguay, according to Peace Corps protocols, with the intent of facilitating Trainees’ mastery of technical competencies.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree Ability to communicate effectively in spoken and written English and Spanish.
Experience in designing and facilitating training programs that incorporate adult education techniques and non-formal education methodology. Experience in leading training in Improved Business Practices, Family Finance, Teaching Computer Skills, Citizen Participation, Leadership and/or Teamwork. Ability to model cultural integration and professionalism and to provide guidance and technical support to adults.
Ability to prepare required technical reports and evaluations in a timely manner. Basic understanding of Microsoft Office, Excel, Outlook and other computer use.
Must pass a security clearance before beginning employment.
Desirable Qualifications: Experience in training Peace Corps Volunteers or volunteers or staff in other international volunteer programs. Basic conversational Guarani. Experience in leading training in working with youth groups and/or other community based organizations. Knowledge of Paraguayan culture and current economic development issues. Valid Paraguayan driver’s license and ability to drive a manual (stick shift), four-wheel drive vehicle. Able to travel throughout Paraguay as requested.
